Birth

Phone Consultation

I provide a complimentary 30 minute phone consultation (call or video, whatever is preferable to you!) so that we can each learn a little bit about each other and so that you can get a feel for me to see if I'd be a good fit for you. From there, if you'd like me to join your birth team, I will send you my contract and my client intake form via email.

Postpartum

After your birth, sometime in the first week or two, I will come to your home for a postnatal visit. If you'd like to schedule more than 1 visit, we can make that happen, too!

Prenatal

My offering comes with 2 prenatal home (or virtual!) visits; these can occur anytime prenatally. I am very flexible and am always willing to work around your schedule and what makes most sense for you. If you'd like to have more than 2 scheduled visits, we can make that happen, too!

Labor & Birth

At 38 weeks, I am on call for you--my phone is on loud 24/7, and I am ready to head out at any moment to support you, by your side, through labor & birth.

Continuous Support

As soon as you decide you'd like to work with me, I am available to you via call, text & email from then on out. It is important to be heard, and as such, you can never reach out too much!

Birth Doula Fee

Sliding scale available, please reach out to me & we'll chat. :)

$2,500

I believe that all birthing people deserve access to labor support, so if this fee is a barrier to your access for support, please reach out to me; we can make adjustments to the fee/work out a payment plan that we all feel confident about.

Sibling Support

I am on call for your family starting at 38 weeks, ready to come to care for your child(ren) while you are in labor/delivering your baby. Fostering a safe, fun, loving environment, meal prep, meeting individual needs, school pick-up/drop-off, etc. This package covers up to 24 hours of sibling support; if you would benefit from additional hours, my add-on rate is $35/hour.

Prenatal

My sibling doula offering comes with 1 prenatal visit where I will spend an hour (or more if you'd like!) with you and your child(ren) so that we can all get to know each other better before you, the parent, goes into labor.

Prenatal Postpartum Prep Session

Hang on, Maddie, you're saying we can prepare for postpartum prenatally?! Well... yes & no! While there are things one simply cannot plan for, there are a number of things that we can discuss and prepare for ahead of time, so that you can focus on resting and nourishing your postpartum self. Think: what to expect, boundary setting, mental hygiene toolbox, parenting roles/responsibilities, etc.

Postpartum

Once your baby is born and we decide when my support in the postpartum period feels best, I will come to your home and be by your side to support you in this new phase of life. My support can look like newborn care, emotional/informational support, resource/referral information, light cleaning/tidying, laundry, meal prep, appointment company, local errand running, etc. Each family's desires and needs vary, and my goal is always to nurture your family by meeting your individual needs.

About Me

Hi! I'm Maddie (she/her), and I serve the New York City area as a birth, postpartum & sibling doula.

I believe in full spectrum reproductive care & in reproductive justice. I honor autonomy and self-awareness. I commit to standing up for racial justice, in support of Black Lives Matter & amplifying the voices of Black folks, and to addressing injustices faced by Black individuals and people of color. I support all family structures and all people in their self-determination of gender identity/expression & sexual orientation. I acknowledge the deep-seated ableism  present in our society and in the medical industrial complex (MIC), and I commit to supporting all people, of every race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, size, Disability, neurodivergence, etc. If you have specific access needs, please do inform me, and I will do my very best to meet them. I will always show up for and support you.

As a professionally trained birth doula, I support all birthing people and their support person/partner, through the prenatal period, through labor & birth, and through the immediate postpartum period, via emotional support and physical comfort measures. I provide compassionate, nonjudgmental support and honor any and all decisions you make for your birth and for your baby, be it, for example, medicated or unmedicated, home birth or hospital birth. I am here to ensure you have every bit of evidence-based information you need to make informed decisions that align with your goals and with your desires. As a devoted member of your birth team, I will make sure you are heard, uplifted, and empowered all ways, always.

As someone with a decade of childcare experience, I am also offering a sibling doula package. This package ensures you have loving, supportive, on-call care for your older child(ren) when you go into labor. You will not only have the reassurance of on-call childcare for you older child(ren), but you will also have the reassurance that your child(ren) is being lovingly cared for by someone with a strong understanding of labor & birth, with the ability to help your child(ren) process what they may witness while you are in labor. With both extensive all-ages childcare experience and labor & birth knowledge, I will compassionately care for and support your child(ren) and also help to normalize this new transition for them.

As a former Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), childcare provider, and caregiver/advocate for my terminally ill father, I have a great deal of experience working with families and human beings of various backgrounds and experiences, in all stages and phases of life. From a young age, I knew I wanted to work with and alongside human beings (navigating the MIC or otherwise), to support them, to care for them, and to advocate for them; to meet them where they're at and to uplift them in transitional experiences in their lives.

Based in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, I share a home with my partner, Jamie, and our adopted pittie, Houston. Our home is filled with daily music making, lots of home cooking, and more hand embroidery accessories than one has space for in a 650 square-foot apartment! In working to ensure an access centered birthwork practice, I am also currently taking American Sign Language (ASL) classes with the ultimate goal of becoming fluent in ASL!

Thank you for being here, visit my contact section to get in touch with me--I look forward to hearing from you and learning about how I can support you!
